About Me

My name is Todd and I am a psychotherapist and couples counsellor, working in private practice in Melbourne. My approach to therapy is integrative and relational. I start with the assumption that no two experiences are the same and as such no two treatments are the same. This means that I draw upon a wide range of theories and therapeutic frameworks. I take a warm and curious stance and work with each individual to develop a collaborative and genuine relationship, one founded on safety, trust and mutuality. The therapeutic relationship is a central component of the therapeutic process and creates the ground for open exploration of your experience, your fears, concerns, longings and dreams. I work with a wide range of people and presentations from diverse population groups and identities. I work within both a short term (10-20 session) and long term (50 sessions +) capacity, depending on the presenting concerns.

I believe that psychotherapy is a powerful tool for change, that can be used to work through specific life challenges, but can also enrich your life and your relationships with yourself and others through increasing self-compassion, self-understanding and insight. I think psychotherapy holds great potential as a way of thinking about and facing some of life’s big questions, both personal and existential. At the heart of it, I see Psychotherapy as a discipline which is primarily concerned with both our unique individual experience as well as our shared humanness and all the suffering and joy that comes with life and human relating.
